How the Game Collector Field Guide started:
I LOVE VISUAL CHECKLISTS. I absolutely do and not enough of them exist. For the average and hardcore collector out there, a visual checklist or even just a list of games really puts into perspective how much media is out there for a given video game console. Collecting video games is hard enough but for a completionist of game sets or subsets, collecting without a list is a fool's errand.
During the beginning of COVID back in 2020 and right after Kickstarting the First Edition of the Video Game Console Collector's Field Guide, I found myself with an abundance of free time. As a fun side project I started to make visual checklists for some of the obscure game consoles that I personally collect for such and the Gizmondo, Nuon, Tapwave Zodiac, etc. I did this because to my knowledge, no one else has. Just like the console guide before it, I never intended to make a full on published book but as I got deeper and deeper into my personal project, it only made more and more sense to try and do so.

No game variants (unless I felt like including them :P)
Lists over 200 games might not get the full picture treatment. It was entirely up to my discretion whether or not I would include pictures of certain libraries. There are books out there that focus solely on certain libraries that I would recommend over my book if you want in depth information about the games within.
All lists were checked and cross checked against at least 3 sources if possible.
I live in the US and don’t collect any UK/European games. I’m sorry UK/European aficionados but I didn’t include many (if any) UK libraries in the visual checklists.
I included some obscure consoles but not ALL obscure consoles. Some of them are simply too difficult to find reliable information on.
Homebrews & reproductions are in their own bonus section in the back of Vol. 4.
No visual libraries until after it’s considered a “dead” console. If I included anything it was by mistake or I simply broke my own rule.
Omissions or mistakes in these lists are possible. I did everything in my power to try and ensure that these are the most complete lists available. If you find anything amiss please just know that I did my best to give you the most complete collector guide ever made thus far. And if you aren’t satisfied with my product, by all means please make a better one!
